Ubuntu Server Development Summary – 31 Oct 2017

Hello Ubuntu Server!

The purpose of this communication is to provide a status update and highlights for any interesting subjects from the Ubuntu Server Team. If you would like to reach the server team, you can find us at the #ubuntu-server channel on Freenode. Alternatively, you can sign up and use the Ubuntu Server Team mailing list.

Spotlight: git-ubuntu version 0.6.2

As announced on the ubuntu-server mailing list, git-ubuntu version 0.6.2 is available in the candidate channel. This version comes with many bug fixes and hope to promote this version to the stable channel in the next week or two. The team is also well on their way to enabling global import of source packages.

If you have not checked out git-ubuntu yet, please check out the blog series on using git-ubuntu and give it a spin!

cloud-init

  • Published cloud-init packages to Bionic Beaver release
  • Update Gentoo Linux support to "rc-service" scripts as "service" is deprecated, thanks to ckonstanski!
  • Detected and fixed a pre-release regression of resizefs when root path is specified by UUID on the kernel cmdline (LP: #1725067)
